Through the Door (開かれた扉) is the first Chronicle Mode Scenario within UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Latest and UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late cl-r. It serves as an introduction to the mode as a whole.

Transcript

Vatista: So, you have finally come. The one who opened the gate.

As you have placed your hand upon this heavy door and pushed, let me tell you of these memories, eternal through time. The story of what led to the Hollow Night.

But before that, I will introduce the person who stands before you now. I am the Autonomic Nerve, Vatista. A subroutine that exists primarily in dormancy.

I reside within a small amount of memory so as to not put a strain on the main unit, and I survey, execute, record, and report.

As to why I have appeared here, the reason I am speaking with you now, is something even I do not know.

While my master sleeps, I awaken in times of emergency. For those who venture forth to observe the Night, I become their guide, and light their way through the darkness.

As present times have become turbulent, the information we have collected, and the conclusion that can be drawn from it, must be shared on the Hollow Night to those who have gained power.

The stories that have led to this Night, against the backdrops they burden. Look through this door to understand them.

Once everything has been known, another door, shrouded in deeper darkness can be seen.

When that time arrives, I shall appear before you again. As another party unaffected, as just another observer.

Now, it is time. Walk forth through the threshold.

To a place far away, one that cannot be reached from here. I will wait for you, holding a slight glimmer of hope, knowing we will not meet.
