This is the script for Londrekia's Arcade Mode stories.
UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH[]
Prologue[]
Londrekia: I finally made it to the next town over… This place is way out of my jurisdiction. I ended up having to come pretty far….
Today's Hollow Night… There's no mistake that it'll occur in this area. I sense the presence of a mastermind looking to take advantage of it, but I have no idea who it could be.
My objective is to check in on both Orie Ballardiae, who has already infiltrated the area…
and my sworn enemy, Erika Wagner. Once I locate them, my role is to both "subdue" and "secure"...
…
Wait, why in the hell do I have to protect the person I'm supposed to be putting down?!
I realize Ritter Schild is subordinate in position to Licht Kreis, but I fail to see why we have to babysit them like this.
I'm supposed to confirm their skill level, engage them in combat, and secure their safety? Are you kidding me? …Geez, I didn't think the top brass could be so unreasonable.
Though I suppose that the rotten history of subordination between Licht Kreis and Ritter Schild won't ever change if the people in charge keep asking the unreasonable of us.
I've gotta do what I gotta do… Not that that's anything new.
…Anyway, enough musings for now. It's time to face the deepening Night.
I am the most powerful "In-Birth," created by the ideals of Ritter Schild, Londrekia Light. It is I who shall change the warped history that has haunted us to this day.
Please watch over me, Lady Adelheid…
Stage 3[]
Londrekia: Now that I've fought several of them, I'm sure of it. Their individual combat power isn't very high. With that out of the way, I'd like to gather information on the area itself, but…
Are there any Wielders around here…? Ah. I hear voices in the distance. Perhaps I can ask them!
(Londrekia hurries towards the source of said voices)
I can see them. Wait, there are two women…? Crap… I'm rather bad with women. It should go without saying, but it's all because of Licht Kreis. Regardless, now's not the time to be picky.
(Londrekia walks over to them)
U-Um, ahem. E-Excuse me, ladies… There's something I'd like to ask you…
Phonon: Huh? Who the hell are you?
Nanase: Hm? Are you talking to us? What is it? Oh, could it be about "that"? Are you a rookie?
Phonon: Shh, Nanase. Don't get too close. Guys who nonchalantly approach you with friendly looks on their faces are definitely you-know-whats.
Nanase: Wow, really? I get it now! This is one of those shows where foreigners come to Japan, right? Are you recording us right now?
Phonon: Nanase, that's not what I meant! He's a pick-up artist! This guy's trying to woo us pretty girls so he can take advantage of us! He's the worst kind of scum. Serious trash. A goddamn dumpster fire.
Nanase: Whaaat? He's on fire?!
Londrekia: (Gah… This is what I meant. What am I supposed to do…?!)
I-I swear, I'm not a shady person like that… I just wanted to ask you something…!
Phonon: In what world would a sketchball admit to being one? And let me guess. You want my digits, right? My email address? My LINNE ID, maybe?
Nanase: Wow, you came all the way to Japan just for that?! Th-That's amazing! You're so determined!
Londrekia: I'm getting a headache…
Phonon: Perfect timing! Nanase and I just happened to be talkin' about which of us is stronger. What do you think? You get to fight whoever you think's strongest. See if you can win.
Londrekia: W-W-Wait a second, what are you saying?!
Phonon: If you win, we'll answer any of your questions. Within reason, anyway. Sound good? Feels pretty fitting for this "Night," I think. Plus, we get to settle the matter of who looks the strongest. Two birds, one stone, got it?
Londrekia: (This is all happening so fast, but this might be my chance. Which one of them should I fight…?)
I'd be happy to fight either one of you. Just not at the same time. …It'd be a problem if there wasn't anyone left to carry the loser back to safety, after all.
Phonon: …Hoh, ain't you the confident one. I don't hate gutsy guys like you. Alright Nanase, I'll handle this.
Nanase: Whaaat?! That's not fair!
Phonon: It's times like these that you gotta listen to your elders. Plus, I let you have a go earlier, didn't I? Just sit tight and check out how strong I am.
Nanase: I know but… Fiiine.
Phonon: Alright, Mr. Hardass. Try not to go too hard on me, 'kay? …Although I can't say I'll do the same.
Londrekia: That's fine with me. Just don't forget. You said you'd be willing to answer any of my questions, within reason…
Stage 6[]
Waldstein: This presence… I expected to find someone formidable here, but instead it's just a scrawny child. I almost mistook you for a walking willow branch. Good grief. Is there no one in this land made of stronger stuff?
Londrekia: What a surprise… For a moment, I thought I had come across a monster! You appear to be human. I'd love to know what kind of training you do to maintain such a powerful body.
Waldstein: Hoh… I see you've got some sense in that brain of yours. My name is Waldstein. I currently live as a member of "Night Blade". Who are you?
Londrekia: Wha…?! Waldstein…? "Night Blade"...? Don't tell me you're THE…?!
Waldstein: Hm? You know of me…? Heh heh heh… Sure is tough being so famous these days.
Londrekia: (He abandoned Licht Kreis, joined the enemy, and left deep scars in Lady Adelheid's heart. He's the reason she refuses to trust men. He's also the main reason why Ritter Schild got put in the position it's currently in. How careless of me! I didn't think I'd run into him like this…!)
(...No, leave it be. You need to leave it be, Londrekia. There's no sense dragging up the past and dwelling on it… In fact, I should be grateful that he's given me this opportunity to grow strong.)
Waldstein: What are you muttering about? Have we met somewhere before…?
Londrekia: No… My apologies, let me introduce myself. My name is Londrekia Light. I come from the foreign organization, Ritter Schild, and I am its strongest warrior. Am I not a worthy enough opponent?
Waldstein: Hoh… Ritter Schild, you say? Unlike the others around here, I knew I sensed a strong will in those eyes of yours. But I didn't think you'd have quite the interesting origin! And "strongest warrior" sure has a magnificent ring to it!
However, words mean naught. Should your skills bore me, I shall show you no mercy. Understand?
Londrekia: I've come to this town to surpass Licht Kreis and free us from this long curse. But I never expected to find such a huge mark waiting for me here. I couldn't ask for a better "bonus."
Legendary god of battle, Waldstein! I challenge you!
Waldstein: Hmph. Setting aside some of the ruder things you just said… Your fighting spirit far exceeds your petty stature, my boy. As a warrior, I would be thrilled to meet your attack head on! Here I come, little one!
Stage 9[]
Orie: …I'm saying you need to fix that stubborn attitude of yours!
Erika: Hmph. You're the one who needs to correct that softness of yours…
(Londrekia enters the Altar)
Londrekia: Hm…? Th-That's Orie Ballardiae…and Erika Wagner?! Incredible. I never thought I'd find them at the same time.
Why are they having an argument in a place like this? What exactly is going on? It doesn't appear to be a case of infighting or anything that serious, but…
(Londrekia approaches the Licht Kreis members he was sent to find)
Um, I'm sorry for interrupting, but…
Orie: You're from Ritter Schild…?
Erika: …
Londrekia: My name is Londrekia. Londrekia Light. That name alone should suffice. Crimson Knight of Licht Kreis, Erika Wagner. And Orie Ballardiae.
Erika: …You're the treasured child of Ritter Schild, raised specifically to counter Wagner, my House of Flame. I've heard the rumors, but you're him? Why are you in a place like this?
Londrekia: What a silly question. I'm here to investigate ahead of the coming decisive battle. Perhaps you'd understand if I said I was here to test how well my powers fare against yours…
Erika: …How amusing. You wish to test how you'd fare against me? Poorly, that's how. But very well. I was beginning to get annoyed by all the rumors anyway. I'll make the difference between us crystal clear by burning you to ash where you stand.
Orie: Stooop! I don't know what's going on here, but the both of you must wait! I refuse to allow such violence to erupt between fellow members of Licht Kreis!
Erika: Him? A member of Lict Kreis? Don't make me laugh, Orie Ballardiae.
Londrekia: Precisely, Orie Ballardiae. I will not be satisfied until I am allowed to face her in combat.
Orie: No means no! If it's a fight you so desire, I will gladly do it in her place. If the two of you cross swords, I know for a fact that it won't end well. It's the one thing I cannot allow.
Londrekia: So… If I go through you, I'll be able to fight the Crimson Knight. I trust you have no problems with that interpretation, Orie Ballardiae.
Erika: Hmph. You never fail to butt into the business of others, Orie Ballardiae. You should know that this man is quite strong.
Orie: I'm more than aware. All the more reason to prevent you from fighting first. I leave the rest in your hands…
Londrekia: Very well. I shall wager my battle with the Crimson Knight… And begin my duel with you, Orie Ballardiae, Executor of Licht Kreis!
Final Stage[]
Londrekia: Orie Ballardiae… Her position as the Fifth Executor led me to underestimate her. She's still a member of Licht Kreis. Quite frankly, that was a far tougher battle than I expected.
Erika: (...Cursed Orie Ballardiae. You went out of your way to show me what this man is capable of… I won't let your death be in vain.)
(...Well, you're a tenacious one. I doubt you're actually dead.)
Londrekia: Now then, there's no longer anyone standing in our way. Only the two of us remain. You're my next opponent, Crimson Knight.
Erika: Yes, quite right. With that irritating nuisance out of the way, I'll be able to fight to my heart's content. And after seeing your skills, I can rest easy knowing that you won't bore me…
…In deference to Adelheid, I came to this little island nation and behaved myself. But I was getting quite fed up with the low level of the Wielders here.
Being under restraint, I can't use my "true power." Nonetheless, I can't imagine losing to you. Now, how about we begin…
Londrekia: Your "true power"...? Ah, you mean "Aegis." I see… Very well, I don't mind. First, I'd like to see your power as you are now.
Ritter Schild will emerge victorious in the end. In our next battle, I'll be able to fight you in a situation where you can make no excuses. That is more than enough for me.
Erika: Hmph, Ritter Schild, eh…? I realize your relationship with "us" as it is now isn't exactly ideal. It's unfortunate that I must crush the dreams of one seeking to fix that, but…
The soul of my lineage is "flame." I can't have it being seen as something so easily extinguished. Repent on your conceit, as you're seared down to the bones in hell…
Londrekia: You can try. I'd ask for no less. Your longstanding pride will sink in the embrace of a coffin of ice.
We shall see if your red "flame" burns out, or if my will of "ice" melts away…!
Epilogue[]
Londrekia: I-I can't believe I managed to beat her. She might be incomplete, but she's still the demon of Licht Kreis and a member of the Wagner bloodline.
I talked big, but I'm riddled with wounds. Nonetheless, I am victorious. …Any objections? Crimson Knight of Licht Kreis, Erika Wagner.
Erika: Ugh… Don't be ridiculous. This match isn't over yet.
Londrekia: Hahaha… You refuse to acknowledge my win, then? That's fine. Seeing as you can still stand, let us call it a draw.
Erika: What?! How dare you… Ugh!
Londrekia: Let's save this fight for next time. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it feels to see the almighty "Crimson Knight" with such a bitter look on her face.
Erika: You bastard… Just you wait until the next "Night"... I swear I'll…
Londrekia: Yes… We'll meet again on the next "Night." Though next time, I won't be the only "Challenger." We both will be.
I only hope that I'll be able to face the real "Crimson Knight" when the time comes. Farewell.
-----[]
Londrekia: Haah, haah… This place should be fine… Whew.
I was pushing myself to inflict as much psychological damage on her as I could, but I barely won by a hair's breadth… I'd expect nothing less from the "Crimson Knight."
I let myself get too carried away by my victory… But we've been oppressed by them for so long. Nobody can blame me for getting a bit mouthy, right? Hahaha…
Our greatest wish… This is the first step toward overthrowing Licht Kreis…
The problem is that while my "ice" is a power forged to directly oppose the Crimson Knight, her "flame" burns all equally. The difference between our abilities is vast…
On top of that, the current Crimson Knight isn't using the "Aegis" she always kept with her. …Which means that was only half of her true power.
When I face her next, I'll be going head to head with the true flame. I can't let this win get to my head just yet…
Alright… I need to head back and report the results of the battle to HQ. They need to know that our "technique" was effective against Wagner.
I can only hope that Lady Adelheid hears of my victory… Licht Kreis and Ritter Schild… I pray that the day comes when both organizations can truly cooperate as equals.
Funny. This annoying hunt for a needle in a haystack was dumped on me, but my chance encounter with the "Crimson Knight" ended up being quite fruitful.
Am I simply a pawn being made to dance atop the palm of some mastermind's hand?
…Well, not that I'd mind. Nothing will ever change if I sit still.
I'll struggle alone if I must…
Londrekia: Toward the next "Night." Toward a dawn in which Ritter Schild and Licht Kreis can walk together, side by side…
(Ending theme: Invitation to the ending world)
UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II SYS:CELES[]
Prologue[]
Londrekia: I've waited so long for this final Night…
I have my mission: provide backup to my comrades in Licht Kreis and work with them to take down Aeon. Or at least, needless to say, that's the cover story.
Imagine if the world is destroyed while we tussle with Licht Kreis! Any survivors would consider us a laughing stock. If I must cooperate, I will, but I can't let this perfect opportunity pass by.
I'll play nice with Licht Kreis on the surface, but behind the scenes, I'll go all out. In a way, I'd be providing the ultimate form of backup: cleaning it all up on my own!
As guilty as I feel about defying your will, Princess Adelheid, it's all for the future of both Licht Kreis and Ritter Schild… I hope you'll forgive me.
Come to think of it, the exact command was to "move ahead of Licht Kreis and defeat the strongest EXS user: the immortal Re-Birth." The commanders sure know how to give a ridiculous order…
One who'd scheme to break the wall of the Night is monstrous on a whole other level, but the power I now wield can take him down, I'm certain. And if not… I'm prepared to give my life.
…But it's way too early for such stupid thoughts. Do I, Londrekia Light, have any regrets? No? Then off into the pristine snowfield of Night I go.
There blooms a single flower, waiting to adorn a grave… Will it be yours, Aeon, or mine?
Stage 3[]
Londrekia: Such an overwhelming sense of hostility, hatred, and fury… You'd be better off keeping that under control, rather than soaking your surroundings in it, don't you think… Hilda the Paradox?
Hilda: Hmph. Please. YOU try wading through the dozens and dozens of small fries who think they have a shot at beating me just because they heard a rumor I'd lost to Aeon. See how "under control" you keep your fury.
Londrekia: Ha ha ha… I see. That does sound unpleasant. All that anger has left you too vulnerable to be any match for me. I'll go ahead and take my leave, then. Naturally, I'll take the win by default.
Hilda: Trying to add insult to injury? If you're looking to be skewered, I'd gladly see you set on a yakitori grill. But I'm disappointed that a little boy as rich as you are would settle for such cheap insults.
Londrekia: Alas. I really thought that would get a rise out of you, but you've seen right through me. I suppose this sort of game reveals one's upbringing and personality.
Hilda: …This is just a hunch, but I'd imagine others would find the things you say significantly more infuriating than I do.
Londrekia: Huh? I-I wasn't trying to be infuriating that time…
Hilda: Don't worry about it, little boy. I'm done with you. Haven't you heard? I've retired from villainy. Now, I have my hands full trying to slay the real evildoer, so get walking. Naturally, I'll take the win by default.
Londrekia: I can't have that. I'm sorry that I missed meeting you in the previous Night… The incomparable witch said to surpass Re-Birth… I'd love to cross blades with the one known as the strongest of the In-Births.
You may call me imprudent for saying this, but I'd like to see whether your power stands up to the rumors. It would make for a great test before my fight with the real Re-Birth.
Hilda: …Did you really need to include that last sentence? Either way, the one who'll bury the "real Re-Birth" is yours truly.
Nobody needs another small fry like you, so I'll say it one more time. Get walking, little boy…
Stage 6[]
Wagner: Ritter Schild… I thought I told you that if we ever meet again, it would mark the end of your life.
Londrekia: Oh? I don't remember it sounding so intense. I took it for more of a friendly agreement that, since things were unclear for both of us, one day we'd get together and work it out.
(Without warning, Wagner lunges forward with her short sword, which Londrekia avoids by a hair)
Whoa… That was a close call. A flaming lance out of nowhere isn't exactly a friendly hello…
Wagner: Hmph! You never shut up, do you? My hand only slipped out of understandable frustration.
Londrekia: (Your hand slipped--and just happened to aim straight for my heart with pinpoint accuracy?)
Wagner: I'm sure even you're aware of the situation on this Night. I must hurry to Aeon. Make way.
Londrekia: Of course I'm aware--and the same goes for you. Everyone who's gathered in this Night is headed the same way.
Wagner: Weaklings are weaklings, no matter how many of you there are. Go by the hundreds if you must; you'll all end up dead. I'm doing you a favor by putting an end to this on my own.
Londrekia: I see. Ritter Schild's mission is to aid Licht Kreis in your efforts. If that is your command, then I must obey…
…Kidding, of course. Aeon is a trophy I can't let you claim. And I can't let you arrive first, as you're the final card we've got to play. So why not let me go on ahead?
When it's all over with, I want a clear-cut duel with you. And if I lose to Aeon… then I'll leave the rest in your hands.
Wagner: Ha. Planning your victory celebration already? How naive. You say you want a clear-cut duel? Very well. I'll go ahead and give you one right here, right now…
…Because nothing could be clearer-cut than your death…
Final Stage[]
Londrekia: Looks like I've finally made it to the Abyss… or no, it's more like a pit. It's full to the brim with EXS. A torrent of Voids could jump out at any moment.
(Kuon appears)
Kuon: Don't get too close or you'll fall. I'd hate for you to go down there before I do. Now, if you'd back away…
Londrekia: You must be Kuon the Aeon. I'm Londrekia Light of Ritter Schild. But I'd rather you remember me as the one to crush your ambitions and read you your last rites.
Kuon: You're too late… Even if you do stop me, this pit will continue to expand without stopping. The Voids' assault--the Immortalize--has already begun.
Londrekia: Even if that's true, I can't simply accept a destiny of doom. I'll defeat you, and then I'll do whatever it takes to stop it. It's got to be worth trying.
Kuon: It's sad, knowing your efforts will go to waste in the end… but I suppose I've got some time to kill before the moment arrives.
Londrekia: (Aeon's words aren't lies… but they're not the truth, either. From what I can gather, it shouldn't be too late to destroy the pit. It would take power I'd have to risk my life to achieve, though…)
(But first, the task at hand. Is it just me, or is Aeon's EXS surprisingly weak? The Crimson Knight seems much stronger. Could he be hiding something…?)
(There's no point in deliberating on my own now. I should focus on taking down Aeon for good. I can deal with the pit later--I know that I can accomplish both!)
Kuon: Have you made up your mind? You look both fearless and uncertain at the same time somehow. I may be your enemy, but I have to cheer for your unyielding spirit.
When I was a young soul at the forefront of my generation, I would have been on your side… but now I am your prey. Ah, old age is a curse…
Londrekia: Eternal One, I hereby challenge you to a final duel. I may not look the part, but I represent Ritter Schild. I'll show you that I'm more than a way to pass the time.
I'll put you down and close the pit. Your Immortalize will never destroy our world!
Epilogue[]
Londrekia: Our duel is settled. You're finished, Kuon the Aeon. You'll never even stand again. Now all I need to do is take care of the looming Abyss!
Unlike a certain Crimson Witch, I'm not capable of just burning everything to ashes and sending you and your pit down in flames.
So instead… I'll shave off some of my life to encase everything around us in ice. What you're about to see goes well beyond the level of EXS. We in Ritter Schild call it… Genesis.
Everything here will be imprisoned in a world of ice for all eternity. You, your pit… and me.
Where our icy casket falls, Niflheim awaits. A whole realm of death, covered in snow and ice.
I don't know what it's like to go beyond the Night as you so desired. But I can promise you silence, for no living beings exist there.
Accept this, Aeon… See the skill that surpasses all others! Icy Cocytus below the earth! Send your raging hail! Send the storm that heralds the downfall!
Absolute stillness… Silent death… Roar, Nidhogg, roar! Genesis, take form and convey us to Niflheim!
(The screen turns white as Londrekia unleashes his sacrificial ultimate technique)
Time will freeze, never to flow again… Farewell, Aeon… The end of one aeon marks the beginning of a new one…
And you… Crimson Knight… No, Erika Wagner… I never thought I'd think of you in my final moments… but I leave the rest to you now…
-----[]
???: …
(Wagner arrives at what used to be the Abyss, now a desolate winter landscape)
Wagner: What is this, a snowfield? No, rather an ice field… Whichever it is, one thing is clear: it's all that man from Ritter Schild's doing.
So you've decided to fall together with the Aeon… Fool… This is what happens when weaklings are allowed to run amok.
The snow is so deep, I can't move! Ugh, I'll just use my flames…! No… I can't. He could very well be sleeping inside the ice. I need more support to save him… Sleep tight for now, courageous fool!
Hmm…? How could a flower grow in a place like this? A single one, at that… Is this a final wish he left behind?
Wagner: …It would be insensitive of me to dig it out and take it home. Let it bloom here, then, gallant and proud.
Oh, savior of this world, now scattered with the snow… I shall engrave your name on this sword. You will never be forgotten…
(Ending theme: Peace of Mind)
Post-Credits Scene
???: …
Wagner: Huh…?
(All of a sudden, Londrekia--thought to have perished--pops out of the snow with the white rose perched on top of his head)
Londrekia: Bwaaaugh! C-C-C-Cold! Cold, cold, cold! If I f-f-fall asleep here, I'll f-f-freeze to death for s-s-sure!
Wagner: What-- But-- You--! You're alive?!
Londrekia: Erika Wagner?! Ha! Of course… I couldn't possibly die before defeating you…
(Freaked out over his sudden revival and angered at having mourned his "death", Wagner leaves in a huff)
Londrekia: …H-Hey! Don't just ignore me! Get back here!
