This is the script for Kuon's Arcade Mode story.

Prologue[]
Kuon: The fated Night begins. It's been a month since my complete awakening… A month too long to wait.
I wonder if any of the guests from my last evening ball will show up tonight…
Oh… You're here to send me off, too, Kubiki?
Kuu: Kuu!
Kuon: Right you are… Your duties end today, too. Thank you for your service. You can go anywhere you want now. You're free, as odd as that may sound to one who's mostly Void.
Kuu: Kuu.
(Kuu leaves)
Kuon: There he goes. I should get moving, too. My guests will start arriving here at the Abyss shortly… to become the stakes with which I bore through the wall of the Night. I must defeat every last one of them.
Liberation from my eternal life… my immortal body… my endless sin. Soon, it will all be over. My vengeance has taken so long… but soon I will be judged and forgiven. What greater bliss is there?
That bliss will be mine… None will stand in my way. No matter who they are, I will eliminate them… and reach my destination…

Kuon: It's been a while, sister. There's a huge list of things I wanted to talk about when we were finally reunited… but now that you're really standing here in front of me, I'm at a loss for words.
Linne: You and me both, brother. But at this point, there's nothing for us to discuss. Let's just get this started already. I can't stand to see your body succumbing to the Void, so I'll gladly put an end to it…
Kuon: How helpful. The last thing I wanted was for you to make me chase after you and your Power of Sealing… but you won't. You can't, can you? I'll drag the Power of Sealing out of your body, organs and all!
Linne: If you can. If not, I'll throw your head straight into the Abyss. You'll get a nice, close look at the other side of the Night you seek so badly.
vs. Waldstein[]
Kuon: What's the matter, Waldstein, my dear friend? You're looking at me like a child staring at a toy.
Waldstein: Hmph. I finally figured out who the real enemy is that I must defeat. A man like you shouldn't need any more explanation than that.
Kuon: I see… I knew that you would come here, too. I should thank you for all of your help, however short our partnership was. Let's settle the score here, then, just like you wanted!
Waldstein: Thanks. I appreciate it. Now! After five hundred years, it's time! Let's settle this once and for all!
vs. Carmine[]
Kuon: It's rare to find someone who gives off such fiendish energy. It reminds me of someone I'd… really rather not remember.
Carmine: Tch, what's with you, shithead? Strikin' up a conversation out of nowhere? Who does that? You're gonna be kickin' yourself on the way to hell for not finishin' me off with a surprise attack instead!
Kuon: Hell…? How convenient. I'm headed in exactly that direction. You can help. It's simple--just die and lie here in silence. Your corpse will guide me as I destroy the wall of the Night.
Carmine: Yeah, okay, I get it. You just need a corpse here, right? Keh heh heh… Hell, I can set that up for you real quick! One fresh corpse, comin' right up--yours!
vs. Orie[]
Orie: I followed an unnaturally large EXS, and look where it led me… This is a surprise. You're Kuon, the Eternal One, aren't you?
Kuon: Yes, I am indeed Kuon. Pleased to meet you, young lady. I've just been passing the time until the Immortalize by tidying up around here.
Orie: Judging by your sense of ease, you've already taken the Night Blade princess and the Indulgence Weapon into your custody. Worse has truly come to worst, then… but I still have one more chance to stop you!
Kuon: You won't with that level of conviction. The power of your EXS reveals your strength of will. The one with the strongest will--a will that pierces all things--will prevail. That's me… and I'll prove it.
vs. Gordeau[]
Gordeau: Ah, there you are, Night Blade boss man. I've been looking for you. I'm here to pay my dues… or rather to pay my respects. Get my drift?
Kuon: Looking into your eyes, I can see your convictions have evolved since I last saw you in the previous Night. You've turned out exactly as I expected, strongman of Amnesia.
Gordeau: I'm not saying I'm not flattered by the praise… but I also kinda want to die since you've seen through my pathetic side. I'll try to live up to your expectations.
Kuon: Great. No need for useless words or gimmicks. What I need now is for you to die here. Become a stake in my plan. You're nothing but another sacrifice paving my way through the wall of Night.
vs. Merkava[]
Merkava: Who are you? My ally? Or my prey? Curious… Very curious… My appetite yet grows…
Kuon: I'm a Void, just like you. Voids can never awaken to human will. Rather, they become one with the wills that have dissipated into the Night. My existence is the same, a mere imitation of my past humanity.
Merkava: I see… Fascinating. Quite fascinating. I must thank you for this insight… by swallowing your consciousness. Gyoah gha ha…
Kuon: I'd rather not be eaten alive now, with my ultimate goal in sight. I'll sacrifice you here before you make a mess of things…
vs. Vatista[]
Kuon: And you are…? Don't tell me… No… Never mind. I didn't expect to meet the ghost of an ancient miracle here, on this final Night.
Vatista: I struggle to contain my surprise. Detecting a large amount of EXS. The powers are connected and concealed in an ancient and complex web. You must be from the Night Blade. The Re-Birth Kuon the Aeon.
Kuon: That's right, I am Kuon. Just an outlaw, here to wreak havoc in the Night. You've been commanded to eliminate me, haven't you, Autonomic Nerve girl? Follow your orders.
Vatista: …Memory search failed. Have we met in the distant past? Regardless, you are Aeon: my target for the Night. Any past engagements aside, your extermination is my top priority.
vs. Seth[]
Seth: Trying to stab me in the back without getting caught? You know that's impossible, even for you.
Kuon: …You looked rather exhausted, so I just had to test you. You're heading up the Night Blade now, after all. How's your body holding up?
Seth: My body's none of your business. Bearing the weight of the Power of Sealing's not enough to keep me from cutting your head off.
Kuon: Good. That's just what I'd hoped to hear from the heir to the Night Blade. It's too bad that I have to bury you with my own hands.
vs. Yuzuriha[]
Yuzuriha: Huh? Hey! You're that Kuon the Aeon guy, aren'tcha? Whoa, you're really alive! So are you, like, my super-ancestor or something? Lemme shake your hand! No, lemme get an autograph! An' a selfie, too!
Kuon: That would be a "no." I'd hardly say I'm your ancestor, after all. You belong to a clan that defected from the Night Blade… The Dual Moon, was it? I've heard your story.
Yuzuriha: Oh, so ya know already? Aw, I was gonna surprise you! You ruined it! Look, whatever happened in the distant past, it's over. No sense yakkin' about it. The one I wanna chat with is you, right here in the present.
Kuon: Of course you're aware that it's the past that made the present me… It must be fate that you're here, rebel descendent. My animosity blew away in the wind long ago, but I will end you… for old times' sake.
vs. Hilda[]
Hilda: There you are, Kuon the Re-Birth! How long has it been since we last met here? A hundred years? You know, I still owe you for everything you did to me… I hope you're nice and ready.
Kuon: Paradox, you've arrived. Welcome. Your powerful Vessel will make a fine lure for the spirits I intend to call forth.
Hilda: What on earth are you talking about? You do realize I'm about to murder you, yes? Besides, I'm in my prime… To hold back would embarrass both of us. Don't expect any mercy from the get-go.
Kuon: Straight to the point? Excellent. But I'll tell you one thing: that feeling that you're "in your prime"? That's thanks to the EXS flowing from the pit. In other words, you're not the only one in their prime!
vs. Chaos[]
Chaos: Hey, Kuon. It's been a while. How've you been? You're nothing if not ambitious… So that's your true form, then? Truth be told, I was hoping we wouldn't meet again this way.
Kuon: You and me both. I don't intend to try and write off our connection as a simple business relationship… Though thanks to that connection, I'm sure you understand what I desire.
Chaos: I suppose I do. All the more reason for our conflict in convictions to come to a head. If I win and you happen to survive, I want this to be over. Forget vengeance, embrace knowledge, and join me. Sound good?
Kuon: …It's a lovely proposition. Thank you. But I'm afraid you forgot one small detail: you have no chance of beating me. I'll walk onward, even if I have to step over the corpse of a dear friend along the way.
vs. Nanase[]
Nanase: Hello? Hellooo! Hey, you're that Aeon guy, right? What're you doing wandering around out here! You scared the crap out of me!
Kuon: Oh, I'm just getting some fresh air. The breeze feels good tonight, don't you agree?
Nanase: You sure make a lotta small talk for someone who's trying to destroy the world! And if you DO destroy it, you're gonna destroy all the parfaits and crepes, too, y'know! How dare you rob a girl of her sweets?!
Kuon: …I shall not ridicule you for your peaceful, modern life. Everyone has something precious they want to protect, girl. I don't know your name, but I'll give you the chance to fight for yours. Draw your sword.
vs. Byakuya[]
Byakuya: Look, Sis. I just found someone seriously impressive. "Sure you did, Byakuya. Just take care of him like you always do." Fine, fine. Leave it to me. I'll make short work of him.
Tsukuyomi: …Do I even want to ask whom that impression is meant to be? We'll talk about this later, Byakuya. For now, I hope you realize that if you're underestimating this man's power… you are going to die.
Kuon: The bond between brother and sister. How nostalgic. Oh, don't mind me. I'm only… reminiscing about a distant past.
But show all the familial affection you like, it won't shake my focus. Even if you don't die here directly by my hand, the Immortalize will swallow you whole. Find more purpose, now, as part of my power!
vs. Phonon[]
Phonon: Tch. Here comes another top-class creep. Why can't I attract anyone nice for once? Hey, you! You're Kuon the Aeon, right? Gonna let me take your head already or what?
Kuon: No, yes, and I haven't the slightest, in reverse order. I suppose you're here to prevent the Immortalize from occurring, too.
Phonon: Of course I am! I mean, duh! If I don't stop it now, then when? Times like this are the whole reason I've got this power! Step one: kick your ass. Step two: save the world. You ready?
Kuon: You've got one thing right: your power does exist for this moment--so that it can form the foundation of my ambition. Save the world? Allow me to break you from your naive, haughty conviction.
vs. Mika[]
Mika: Hiiiii-YA! Mika kiiick! Heh heh heh! What's with all the walking around? Dead guys are supposed to stay underground, y'know! You at least remember my face, right?
Kuon: A child…? My guests just get more and more boisterous. From the looks of it, you're a member of Licht Kreis… With such a happy-go-lucky demeanor, I assume you're not one I should take lightly.
Mika: Hey, hey, hey! The bad guy's freaking out! Everything's coming up Mika! You wanna go over to the other side, right? I'll send you right over with a quick whomp from these fists!
Kuon: "Flow" occurs when one overcomes trivial matters and transcends their own capabilities. You must have deluded yourself into a flow state to set sights on me. I can't let myself be fooled by your young Vessel.
vs. Wagner[]
Kuon: You seem quite… fired up. At this rate, you may end up burning this world to a crisp before the Immortalize gets a chance to destroy it…
Wagner: Spare me the needless small talk, Aeon. Now draw. I won't have it said that I attacked you before you had a chance to defend yourself. Then again… I suppose the ends would justify the means in this case.
Kuon: Scary. I feel as though my whole body could burst into flames just standing near you. I'd expect nothing less from the strongest in Licht Kreis. I'll have to extinguish your flame to fulfill my wishes.
Wagner: I'd suggest giving up while you still can instead. Now that you've just met me, your wishes are toast. You shall turn to ash, ride the wind for a moment, then settle to the soil where you belong. That is your fate.
vs. Enkidu[]
Kuon: Hey, Enkidu. Hard at work patrolling the area around the Abyss, I see. …Though you're oozing an awful lot of murderous intent for a mere security guard. I wonder who the target of your ire might be.
Enkidu: Ha… There's no point in trying to hide it. If this world is lost, I'll never be able to find the answer I seek. I've come for your head.
Kuon: I see… Well, however brief our time together may have been, you did cooperate with me. I'm grateful enough to honor your request. I'll fight you with everything I've got, just like you wanted.
Enkidu: I thank you. A fight to the death with someone like you is a big step towards the ultimate goal my fists seek!
vs. Londrekia[]
Londrekia: You must be Kuon the Aeon… I know we're not far from the Abyss, but I didn't expect to see you roaming around out here.
Kuon: There's nobody around who's capable of destroying the Abyss in its current state. It's a better use of my time to find as many people as possible to make into sacrificial stakes.
Londrekia: I see! But by straying too far from the Abyss, I'd say you've let your guard down too much. All I have to do is keep you here and let the ladies of Licht Kreis make their move…
Kuon: It's true that the numbers aren't quite on my side. However, I'm not sure you'll find it so easy to keep me here now that the Abyss and I are connected. You should know the true power of a Re-Birth…
vs. Tsurugi[]
Tsurugi: Hey, there he is! Big Aeon himself, out for a stroll! Ha ha ha, just kidding. How's it going, old-timer? Considering how long you've been around, I guess "old-timer" might not cut it…
Kuon: You should know better than to mouth off to your elders. What do you say? Will you help an old man get a little exercise?
Tsurugi: Tch! It's no fun if you play along, gramps. Seriously though, you really have lived a long-ass life. I'm Tsurugi from the EFG, by the way. Here to stop the Immortalize--and that means beating you down. Ready?
Kuon: Sure, I'm ready. But do take it easy on an old man, will you? I wouldn't want to end up breaking any bones while beating a young man with more power than he knows how to handle.
vs. Kaguya[]
Kaguya: Ack! I'm late! Late, late, late! I've gotta get there quick, before the Abyss opens wide--and the dastardly Kuon kicks off something truly terrible!
Kuon: …Now, now. There's no need to rush. All hell won't break loose until that, ah, dastardly Kuon completes his survey of the area and returns to the Abyss.
Kaguya: Oh, really? Phew, that's a relief! In that case, maybe you can help me stop him from getting back to the Abyss! It's easy. Just close your eyes, put your hands on your head, and turn around, 'kay?
Kuon: And let you put a bullet through my head? I suppose you had to ask. If you're half as dangerous as you are spunky, you must be quite skilled indeed. I might not even make it back in one piece…
vs. Uzuki[]
Uzuki: Eee hee hee hee hee… Now, here's someone REALLY interesting! You're a Re-Birth, aren'tcha? Rejoice, minions! Tonight, we feast!
Kuon: And you are…? Such a strange body and spirit. The odd guests keep coming. From the looks of it, your EXS embraces death… The sheer possibility of EXS never ceases to amaze me.
Uzuki: Tsk! You're a quick study, huh? Nobody ever figures it out that fast! You're the real deal, all right! Whatever. See through my tricks if you want, 'cause all I've gotta do is get rid of you! Hya ha ha ha!
Kuon: Show me what your EXS can do. Show me the limits of your existence. If I defeat you, my power may extend to even greater heights…

Final Stage[]
Kuon: Ah, Hyde. Long time no see. I knew you'd come to visit me…
Hyde: Hey! You're that suspicious kid from before, right? Wait a sec, did you get taller? Like, way taller?
Kuon: I'm honored that you remember me. Yes… I may appear differently now, but I am indeed "that kid from before." I won't deny that "suspicious" is a fair appraisal, either. Ha ha ha…
I'd assumed a temporary body the last time we spoke. I had my reasons--I needed you to move according to the scenario I've plotted out.
Hyde: A scenario, huh…? Like a play or something? Gotcha. So I guess this is the part you meant when you said I'd "become your enemy," right? Is that where we're at?
Kuon: In the grand scheme of things, yes. The time has come. All the pieces are in place except for yours.
Hyde: …Wait, hold up! Does that mean Seth's already knocked out? And Linne, too?!
Kuon: Yes… That's why I need your Insulator. It was originally my own, you know. It was stolen by someone I despise and taken off to vanish into the Night. Now, let me ask you politely: give it back, please.
Hyde: Ha! You really thought that was gonna work? "Okey-dokey, here ya go!" Yeah, right. Not buying it. If you want it, you gotta take it.
Kuon: So you said it yourself--if I win, I can have it back? That's perfectly acceptable.
Once I've got my hand on that sword, this world is as good as done. Conversely, if you defeat me, you'll prevent its destruction. Can you do it? Do you have it in you to save the world?
Hyde: Heh! I don't care about being a savior or a hero or anything like that. I'm just here to get you back hard for all the times you've made me look like an idiot! Get ready, 'cause here I come!
Kuon: Good! Come at me. You're the final piece I need for this world to fall completely into my hands. Insulator, return to me!
Epilogue[]
(Hyde is struck down by Kuon)
Kuon: Insulator… You've finally returned to me. How long has it been…? Tonight's battle is over, and along with it, the duty I've shouldered eternally.
I've torn holes all through this city for this moment. The corpses of those I've defeated will become my catalysts as I summon the Voids and destroy the wall of the Night.
Let's begin…
(With his ultimate plan finally coming to fruition, Kuon begins to plunge the world into eternal Night as he prepares to open the path to the Abyss.)
Now… Nobody will stop me. No, nobody CAN stop me. The wall will fall and the Immortalize will ensue…
--Am I dreaming? He looks just like me… but his face is twisted in a vulgar smile.
--He must be the other me… the "evil me" that dwells inside. I don't intend to blame this all on him… he is undoubtably me. I took his hand for my desire and this is the result…
--Higan fell to the Night. If I don't completely end his life, this world will soon be truly destroyed.
--I will track him down and sacrifice this city to finish him off. I was too weak to choose this path on my own. I could only borrow his power.
--Should I fall into the Night, my consciousness will mix with his… with the Voids and the Night itself. It will be diluted and mixed away into nothing.
--A shed husk drifts along, still bearing my shape. This is Re-Birth… the fate of the weak swallowed up by EXS.
It's finally open… The path into the Night… The pit leading to the underworld… All that remains is to sink down and fall.
Uncountable Voids sniff this world's atmosphere, getting the scent of its air… They're crawling up… and out.
Yes… Good. Climb. Keep climbing. The fewer of you remain, the easier it will be for me to find him…
Goodbye, human world. It's possible that I may return someday, when my goal is accomplished…
But by then, this realm will be unrecognizable… Trampled into a world not unlike the Night itself…
Kuon: Mountains of rubble… Piles of corpses… The human realm and the Night will merge into one realm. The stage perfectly set for our final showdown…
Then I will have my last desire… Your head. Just you wait, Higan!

- In contrast to Hilda's Arcade route in the previous game, Kuon has no interactions with the guest fighters — Eltnum and Akatsuki.
