Joker (ジョーカー) is a member of Amnesia who is brought up in name by Hilda.

Information

Joker is a high ranking member of Amnesia whose status in the organization is unknown. During the Hollow Night, he's known as The King of Clowns

Appearance

Joker is a lean looking man with scruffy looking, two-toned hair. His attire consists of a zip-up jacket with a fur collar coat hanging over his shoulders and striped pants. He also wears a pair of tinted sunglasses.

Story

While he doesn't make a physical appearance, Joker is brought up in name during Hilda's arcade story and is called forth alongside Uzuki and Enkidu to dispose of Hyde and Linne. Hilda knows that Joker usually eavesdrops her business and expects him to answer when she needed a hand.

Abilities

Nothing yet has been said of Joker's EXS abilities or combat skills. However, he is seen holding some cards, which could be his weapon of choice in battle.

In the joke article, the designer had thought four attacks for him:

  • "Test Your Luck" (運を試せ)
    No details.
Places down a card on midscreen and when the opponent touches it, they receive a random status debuff, such as "poison".
  • "Come on..."
A parry that launches the opponent on a successful hit.
Presumably Joker's Infinite Worth EXS. Throws 13 cards into midair and when they hit, Joker takes a stance the finishes the opponent with his 14th card; the true trump card.

Joker's Comment

To be honest... I didn't think my crazy request would be accepted, so I had already prepared an alternative plan in secret. I'm truly moved by the fact that Yoshihara would really draw this. I already anticipated that the weapon would be cards, but that calm and composed gaze in his eyes and the way he holds the cards. Everything is just so cool...

The fur around his neck gives a wibe of luxury into his being. His characteristics really stand out without losing to any of the real characters of "UNI". Please consider adding my another self "JOKER" as a playable character.

Yoshihara Seiichi's Comment

This character had achieved a precise vision on the stage of first impressions. He also matches well into the world setting. Not to mention, people who fight with cards are rare in fighting games. I had very much fun designing him as it gave me various inspiration for attack names and character motions. One of the aims was to make him seem slightly suspicious.

Trivia

  • Joker first made an appearance in the Monthly Arcadia magazine's issue No.155 back in April 2013 as an avatar for one of the article writers (@shinadai_JOKER). The writer talks in a side column about how he was surprised that French-Bread actually agreed to designing his avatar after he asked them as a joke.
