Chronicle Mode, spelled in the English release as Chronicles Mode is the second option available on the menu in the console release of UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Latest and later, UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late cl-r. It features scenarios centering on what each of the playable characters did before the events of Arcade Mode.

- Strix is the only non-playable character in the game to receive her own dedicated scenario.
- In the files for the arcade version of Exe:Late[st], unused text files show that Tsurugi was meant to not only be playable in that revision, but also have his own Scenario.
- The unused text also suggests that a short epilogue narrated by Vatista was planned at some point. Like Tsurugi's Scenario, it was scrapped as well.
- Eltnum, Akatsuki and Londrekia are the only characters in the original game to not have their own dedicated prologue scenario. Eltnum and Akatsuki lack it due to being guest characters and Londrekia is missing one due to debuting in Exe:Late [cl-r], a version of the game whose only form of new story material was his own Arcade Story.
- While UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes currently does not have its own version of Chronicle Mode, the in-game files have characters say the mode's name despite it being missing in this installment. This includes the characters who made their playable debut in this game, such as Kuon and Uzuki.
