Remember when I did these?
Wow, been a while since I did one of these, huh? Well, at lot has happened since my last post, in terms of personal stuff, world stuff, and UNI stuff. Exe:Late[cl-r] got leaked, was revealed, and was released, for starters. A Twitter page has been established for the Wiki, as well as a Discord server. It's been a wild year, both in terms of good and bad, but I'm still kicking.
Anyways, the original plan, about two years ago, was to make daily blog posts about my time on the Wiki, but personal stuff got in the way, unfortunately. College and whatnot. I wanna get back to doing these blog posts again, because it almost helps me clear my mind when it comes to what's going on here.
Obviously, there's been more than just UNIclr releasing. There have…

Yukina is the only character to be able to guard herself from any chip damage, making her very invisible.
Yukina is a character who thrives in playing the neutral game and footsies. She doesn't have the fastest frame data, but makes up for it with very long range and threatening damage from that range. As well, she has the best potential in the game: Negating chip damage when guarding. Her spear commands and Force Function can make her offense quite scary. However, s…

Localization issues.
So I've been messing around with UNIst for the past couple of days now and something is starting to get on my nerves quite a bit. If you had any experience with UNIEL, then you'll know that the localization was... less than subpar (Wagner being referred to as a man springs to mind.) From what I've looked at so far, the localization for this game is almost outright horrendous. From terminology being completely fuddled up (In-Births are sometimes referred to as "Wielders" and then being referred to as In-Births again), names being changed (Komatsu being shortened to "Koma") to things that have confirmed names and terminology being completely changed (Orie's last name is still Valadier, the theme names for the characters have been changed, i.e…
Throwing a bit of Light on the situation.
As of today, Under Night In-Birth Exe Late[st] has officially released in western shores. So far, today has been a major day for UNIst as a whole, not just in the English release of the game, but also the fact that a new character has potentially been leaked, that being Londrekia Light, a character that has had a bit of a rough journey in being a part of the roster. First, a little backstory.
Londrekia was originally going to be one of the playable characters in the original arcade release of Under Night, a rushdown/puppet based fighter who wielded a rapier, sound familiar? However, due to French Bread wanting to keep the male-female ratio of the game equal, they ended up scrapping him and replacing him with Orie, a rushdown/puppet based fi…
Street dates and future "reviews"(?)
(One day remains until UNIst hits western shores, for most anyway.)
As some people might be aware, the English version of UNIst broke street date about just under a week ago, and I myself was fortunate enough to just get my copy in the mail a day early (today.) It's only just recently that I've heard about games breaking street date (I first saw it happen with Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator) and I'm honestly not sure what to feel about it. It's obviously going to be considered a mistake on behalf the publishers, retailers, etc , but I can't help but wonder if more games are having early releases intentionally. UNIst is especially an odd case as retailers haven't just gotten the game early, people like myself have had it delivered early. I mean,…
JOKER
(2 more days until UNIst hits western shores.)
And so, the mystery has been solved. As it turns out, this picture of Joker has been around for six years. According to Sourenga, this picture originates from issue. 155 of Arcadia Magazine, meaning that this dates back to around April 2013. This issue was mostly dedicated to showing off what was new in version 1.06, the last update for the vanilla game until UNIEL was released for arcades, which was mostly operation stability.
The writer of the article, who went by the nickname of JOKER, requested that French Bread do a false character announcement for some sort of an April Fools joke and base the character off of him. The article states that JOKER was apparently incredibly surprised that Yoshih…
The King of Clowns
(Four days until UNIst hits western shores)
Today is the day I start cracking down on a possibly leaked pic of Joker, an unseen NPC from Under Night In-Birth that has become a personal interest of mine. A character that we know nothing about yet has a name that speaks many words and raises many questions. Around about late June to early July, about a few weeks before UNIst's console release in Japan, this image surfaced on Twitter. I've asked people in the UNI Discord and around Twitter to see if anyone knew anything, to no response. I even tried reaching out to Narita, Kamone and Raito themselves but got no reply (No surprise there, my Japanese skills are below subpar and the only thing I said in the tweet directed at them was a single '?'…
